Some companies are looking to strengthen their positions in consolidating markets. Others want to acquire new technology capabilities or product portfolios. Many are looking to expand into new territories.
Whatever the reason, when a company is Acquired, the acquired team’s company culture may face extinction if it is not strong enough to survive after the business is absorbed into the acquiring organization. That’s what happens in many cases when a smaller company is acquired by a larger competitor. But in other cases, the acquired company’s culture may have a profound influence on the acquiring organization, infusing fresh new ideas and a new take on operations.
