Traveler of the Month: Karen Lovin

Although travel nurse Karen Lovin has been with Trinity for just over a year, she is already coming up on her fifth contract with our healthcare staffing group. Karen is an Emergency Room RN who is about to start a new assignment in Conway, SC.

Her favorite assignment was her first and most recent placement at Bladen County Hospital ED. Although she admits Bladen County Hospital ED may always be her favorite, Karen’s new assignment that will offer her the opportunity to be home with family as much as possible. “I’m kind of fond of them!” she joked.

A naturally compassionate person, Karen explained that she does not have a lot of free time because she is responsible for caring for her large family. However, despite her shortage on spare time, she makes sure to sponsor a family in need every Christmas and provides blankets and coats to the homeless through a program at church.

Karen’s passion for nursing and caring for others shines through when she speaks about her profession. She loves nursing because it is gratifying to her to know she makes a difference. Karen expressed, “I may not have the ability to help a large group of people at once, but every shift I have the opportunity to change someone’s life for the better… sometimes it’s even a family member at a patient’s bedside.”

Karen chooses to travel with Trinity because she finds the entire team very helpful. She explained, “My recruiter, Shannon, is available when I need him, and works hard to get an assignment that fits my needs. Stephanie Pittman ensures all my paperwork and credentials are up to date each year for every assignment. My pay is accurate and on time.” She happily concluded, “Everyone I have come in contact with at Trinity is top notch.”

Her recruiter, Shannon Mau, recognizes Karen’s work ethic and care that goes into her profession, “Karen is absolutely a sweetheart to work with. Her review from a recent contract with one of our Simpli Fi hospital clients came back with all ‘EXCEEDS EXPECTATIONS’ and I couldn’t agree more. Not only is she a solid nurse, she’s an absolute pleasure to work with and very loyal to Trinity. We need more Karen Lovinl on our assignments!”
