Central Government launched new type of food provision to poor and needy in name of Food Security Card. Food Security Cards are replaced by Ration Cards. Once the filled in application form submitted at the ration card with all the family details along with aadhaar card numbers written and submitted at the nearest area ration shop. Verification started as the Civil Supplies Department started cross verification of the details provided and allotted the Food Security Card = Ration Card to the eligible citizens.
1.01 crore families applied for Food Security Cards ever since the new public distribution system of supplying Rs.1/- kg rice at 6 kg per head started in State from January.
Food Security Card will be pink in color and issued soon after the verification closes on 20th April, 2015 and distribution of permanent cards will be started to all the citizens who applied for national food security card.
