via Fort Bragg NC has the Largest Population in the Nation.
Fort Bragg, NC is home to FORSCOM, 18th Airborne Corps and 82nd Airborne Division. Fort Bragg covers almost 163,000 acres of land in Cumberland, Hoke, Moore and Harnett counties. There are approximately 53,700 troops stationed at Fort Bragg and an additional 14,000 civil service personnel. The community is much larger when you add in the families, contractors, and retirees. When you factor in all the other people the Fort Bragg community tops out some where slightly over a quarter of million people.
Not only can Fort Bragg boast they vast population but they are also home to a lot of the military’s brass. There are about 40 general officers on Fort Bragg second only to the Pentagon in Washington, DC.
