Shit to Hit! Friday August 12th 6 - 11PM - Hansen’s Soda Gets Artsy With Venice Beach Party Pad


Hansen’s Natural Soda is celebrating creativity and originality this summer at the Mar Vista Art Department with the opening of Hansen’s House, a space designed to bring artists, musicians and other adventure seekers together to celebrate one-of-a-kind originality at this one-of-a-kind party. There is no cover charge.

On Friday, August 12 from 6 PM - 11 PM, enjoy a one night only celebration of west coast street art, original music, food and Hansen’s.

Located at The Mar Vista Art Dept, 12513 Venice Blvd, the party kicks into high gear with a set by Stones Throw Records’ DJ Peanut Butter Wolf & J-Rocc, party games, giveaways and art-inspired cuisine by Chef Steven Fretz. Pedicabs will transport partygoers to lounges set up throughout Venice Beach, where five premier L.A. street artists will be live-painting murals.

Apexer -
His work has been shown extensively both in the Bay Area and abroad. Recent group exhibitions include Calligraffiti: Writing in Contemporary Chinese and Latino Art, Pacific Asia Museum, Pasadena, CA (2009); Bay Area Now 4, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, San Francisco (2005), White Walls and the Luggage Store Gallery. He was the artist in residence at the Headlands Center for the Arts (2007), and was featured in documentaries and publications regarding the Mission District in San Francisco.

Starfightera -
Venice-based artist, street artist, photographer, producer and gallerist. She currently owns and operates StarFighter Studios, a gallery and production studio in Venice and California.

MadSteez –
After being born blind in his left eye and given 3hree first names (Mark Paul Deren), MADSTEEZ is a multi-faceted artist/designer based in WEENSV!LLE, CA. Growing up on the outskirts of Washington DC, surrounded by nicknames and the oh so frequent game of biscuit, his HEYD!K sense of humor emerged.

CANLOVE has exhibited in Los Angeles, New York, Miami and London and they continue to gain global interest and momentum. Their work combines innovation, chaos, process, pain, curiosity, passion, wonder, whimsy and purpose. It fits somewhere within the merging worlds of art, sustainability, community and design.

Wyatt Mills -
Since moving to Los Angeles over two years ago, Mills has exhibited with Project Gallery, Sam Francis Gallery, Superchief Gallery, at Bergamot Station and at Miami Project with Visual Arts Gallery.
