More than 20 Hospitality Graduates have been awarded career-boosting scholarships at a ceremony held in Glasgow last week.
Twenty-three youngsters – including 18 Scottish Apprenticeship in Hospitality (SAH) graduates and five Diageo Learning for Life graduates – attended the ceremony hosted by Hit Scotland.
Presented with their awards at the Emerging Talent Conference, the award winners were recognised for developing their international business awareness with opportunities to enhance their skills through special work placements at venues such as Disney World and Gleneagles Resort.
Mark Baird, Head of Alcohol in Society for Diageo GB said: ‘All of the HIT Scotland Scholarship winners from Diageo Learning for Life and the Scottish Apprenticeship in Hospitality have proven their determination and focus.’
David Cochrane Chief Executive HIT Scotland (pictured far left), added: ‘HIT Scotland has seen a significant increase in entries for the scholarships this year, a trend which indicates an attitude shift in young people. There is a rich pool of talent here in Scotland, and the opportunities to match those high quality candidates are also on our doorstep.’
The award winners will find out their placement venues in the next few weeks.
