The N-Power Volunteer Corps is a segment of the N-Power programme which has been set out to engage and train 500,000 young unemployed graduates for the benefit of rural development in Nigeria. It is a paid volunteering programme of a 2-year duration. Through the N- Power Volunteering Corps programme, the government's commitment to the improvement of quality of lives, reduction in income inequality and tackling of the deficiencies in public services will be actualised.
About N-Power Volunteer Corps
The graduates will work in their immediate rural communities, where they will assist in improving the inadequacies in the education, health, and agriculture sectors. Among the key selection
REQUIREMENT for the N-Power Volunteer Corps will be a predisposition to work in proximate communities.
The 500,000 graduates under the N-Power Volunteer Corps programme will get computing devices that will contain information necessary for their specific engagement, as well as information for their continuous training and development. Participants will provide teaching, instructional, and advisory solutions in 4 key areas.
The N-Power Volunteer Corps programme is an invaluable opportunity for young Nigerians to make immense economic and social contributions to the nation while developing their skills. They will be encouraged to think critically, and be entrepreneurial and creative in applying their skills in their areas of endeavour. So far, 200,000 young graduates have already been engaged across the nation as N-Power Volunteer Corps members. The initial recruitment process engaged the graduates for 3 out of the 4 sub-programmes; N-Power Health, N-Power Agro, and N-Power Teach. This year, N-Power VAIDS has been introduced and will serve as one of the sub-programmes through which the 300,000 graduates will be engaged.
N-Power aspires to provide a platform where most Nigerians can access skills acquisition and development. At this time however, the initial modular programmes in N-Power are designed for Nigerian citizens between the ages of 18 and 35. You will need to meet the minimum requirements (if any) for your respective programme. Generally, selection is based:
Who can apply requirements
- on your expression of a genuine interest in whichever area you decide;
- passing the relevant tests;
- your willingness to push yourself beyond your comfort zone; and
- ability to show a flair to develop all the skills you need to be the best you can be.
