Moorpark police busted what they described as an identity theft lab earlier this month. Police responded to a shoplifting call in December at a local department store. They arrested the suspects on outstanding, unrelated warrants.

During the arrest, police confiscated several false identities from the suspects that were captured on credit and identification cards. That discovery led to further investigation of the suspects’ residence.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office was in the process of preparing a warrant for an Agoura Hills home when they discovered that the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office was planning to a neighboring residence. A joint taskforce served both search warrants in Agoura Hills.

Inside the first home, Ventura police discovered a full-scale production facility for false identification and credit cards. They arrested the two occupants of the home. Los Angeles Sheriff’s deputies arrested four other suspects associated with the neighboring home on outstanding warrants and drug charges.

Ventura County officials booked their two suspects into the Ventura County Jail. No charges have been filed yet in the case. Investigators say they expect to make additional arrests and seek charges against the participants.
