The officer initiated pursuit and the driver eventually pulled into a driveway and fled into the residence. Police eventually convinced the man to come outside. According to police, the first driver, a woman, told them she was attempting to comply with a court order regarding the couple’s children.
She attempted to drop them off at the man’s home, but he exited the house with a crowbar and began hitting the woman’s car. She fled the scene and the man followed her. He rear-ended the car hard enough to break the rear bumper. That also happened to be when the officer spotted the incident.
Police arrested the man and booked him into the Ventura County Jail. He faces a number of misdemeanor charges in the case, including child endangerment and disobeying a Domestic relations court order. He also faces felony charges of assault with a deadly weapon and evading police. In addition, he is charged with three misdemeanor probation violations from incidents in 2015 and 2016.
