New Fiber Laser Marking Systems

Entry-level MiniLase™ e aimed at first time laser users whilst the MiniLase™ XL is suited to high volume applications and capable of handling large components

Further demonstrating its position at the forefront of advanced coding and Marking equipment, Needham Coding, part of The Needham Group, has added two exciting new models to its growing portfolio of Fiber Laser marking systems for a range of industrial markets, including automotive, aerospace, engineering, mechanical and medical device.

Designed for high volume applications, the MiniLase™ XL, which offers low lifetime cost of ownership, is the biggest model in the Minilase series making it especially suitable for handling large components. Alternatively, the economical MiniLase™ e is an entry-level yet highly functional option, which is ideal for first time users of laser technology.

Featuring a generous workspace and open interior with an expansive loading area to accommodate large or long parts, the Minilase XL is available with either a 20W or 50W ytterbium fiber laser engine. For maximum flexibility, it offers Class Four capability to facilitate open door marking of bigger components with service override key, safety warning light and optional laser safety glasses.

The low maintenance, air-cooled MiniLase XL laser system is suitable for marking all metals, most plastics, painted or coated materials and carbide, amongst others.

Needham Coding’s MiniLase XL boasts a series of ergonomic features including a three-sided pneumatic vertical door, power focal height adjustment and automatic mode for high volume applications. For maximum ease of operation, automatic mode allows automated sequence of door close, marking and door open.

Powerful MOPA fiber laser technology enhances the marking capabilities over basic q-switched fiber laser systems. Selectable pulse duration’s allow for the processing of a wider range of materials and substrates.

The MiniLase XL is available with a standard marking field of 100mm x 100mm and is capable of handling a maximum part size – using rear cabinet space – of 279mm (width) x 685mm (length) x 320mm (height).

Needham Coding’s economical MiniLase e is a robust, entry-level 10W fiber laser system.  Easy-to-use, reliable and precise, it is capable of marking a range of substrates, including all metals, most plastics and painted, anodised and coated materials.

A fold-out side panel touch screen provides operator control and feedback as well as continuous machine status updates. A large vertical safety window allows full view of the marking process.

Extremely versatile, users can make their own custom part fixtures or utilise the high precision lab jack for focal height adjustment. A port is also available for fume and dust extraction, alongside a lightweight, ergonomic spring mounted door.

The MiniLase e offers a standard marking field of 100mm x 100mm and is capable of handling a maximum part size of 342mm (width) x 241mm (length) x 117mm (height) – using optional labjack accessory.

Setting up of both models is made simple with the MinilaseTM Pro SE software. They can mark text, graphics, barcodes, serial and date codes, and more within moments with a pre-configured yet adjustable library of materials. All that is required is a PC with a USB connection to start etching, engraving and marking.

Both MiniLase e and MiniLase XL are backed by a comprehensive three-year warranty and part of a wider range of MiniLase models including the MiniLase Manual and MiniLase Autodoor.
