This blog was initially set up to support women and midwives through the Australian government's reform of maternity services in 2009-2010.
Since 1 July 2010, when the reforms came into effect, a few midwives continue to practise privately, attending women and their babies, providing the full scope of primary maternity care in homes, and enabling women to make informed decisions when and if medical intervention is needed.
