Strategies for Summer Strip Tripping

Every stripper in town will tell you that summers are notoriously slow.  Inevitably, the conversations in the dressing room then begin to revolve around Traveling to another city to work. I’m sure you’ve heard, or participated in one of these conversations:

Barbie: This Club sucks.  I’m going to Vegas.  I heard Suzie went to Vegas and made a grand every night she worked.

Brandi: Yeah, I talked to Suzy too, but I heard she only made a grand one night and the other two nights she barely made her house fee back. Vegas is so over-rated.  But I heard Dallas was the new hot spot, lots of guys with oil money!

Sapphire: I’ll go to Vegas for fun and work a couple nights, as long as what I make pays for the trip.

Barbie: I’ve got two kids, If I go ANYWHERE, I HAVE to make more money than here after I pay for my Hotel and plane ticket.

Brandi: I also read on the internet that Alaska has tons of guys and no hot girls, maybe we should go there!

Sapphire: Is there other stuff to do in Alaska besides work?

Brandi: I heard about this booking company that will pay for your hotel and airfare, but they send you to places in the middle of nowhere.  Sometimes I wonder if it ‘s even worth the expense of traveling!

Three Strippers, Three different Viewpoints.  Whether or not it is worth the cost of traveling depends entirely on YOU.  There are pros and cons to traveling, be sure to weigh them before you pack your bags.

If you are profit minded like Barbie, realize that traveling may not be the best solution.  Even though Vegas has the allure of hitting the strip club jackpot, the clubs are over saturated with girls.  The overhead costs of traveling also add up to more than hotel and airfare; you also need to have money for cab fare or a rental car, and also for food/beverages. Las Vegas has the lowest overhead travel costs from Phoenix.  If you book your trip 14 days in advance you can fly roundtrip for $120, rent a car for $20/day ($170/week with taxes and insurance) stay at a large casino hotel like Stratosphere for $40/night ($250/week).  If you are frugal and hit the grocery store instead of the 24-hour casino diner you can maintain a food/drink budget of $20/day ($140.)  I know that’s a lot of numbers I just threw at you, and if you don’t want to do the math just trust me….I was an algebra teacher before I decided to become a SuperStripper.   If you have been doing the math with me, the total cost for this week long trip is $680.  Other cities, like Dallas are much more expensive.  Airfare to Dallas runs $250, a standard hotel room in a safe area will cost $80/night ($560/week) and rental cars are over $250/week for the economy class.  So assuming you stick to a food/drink budget of $20/day;  your week-long strip trip to Dallas would cost $1200.  In comparison, a basic hotel room in Manhattan is $150/night, and round trip cab fare is at least $25/night.  Once you include airfare and food, a week in the Big Apple can set you back at least $1500 (and I challenge you to only spend $20/day on food and drink in Manhattan!)

If you are a fact finder like Brandy, you have probably already scoured the internet for the best information.  Free online forums like StripperWeb.com and ExoticDancernet.com have a treasure trove of knowledge about most every club in the country.  Booking agencies like TravelingEntertainers.com will arrange for one way transportation and lodging.  This is a little bit different than being an ordinary house dancer in a major metropolitan area.  Unlike Vegas and Phoenix where you only have to show up when you want to…once you sign the contract you are expected to work every night of the booking.

If you are footloose and fancy free like Sapphire, the world is your oyster! One of the greatest perks of being a stripper is that you can work ANYWHERE!  If you aren’t concerned about making MORE money during your travels then you would at your home club, what are you waiting for?  Pick a city you’d like to visit, look up the strip clubs and go!

Strategy 1:

Grin and bear it.   The aforementioned cash cushion comes in handy.  Work  Harder: you may have to work 4 or 5 shifts to make what you used to make in 3 shifts during the busy season. Just don’t get down after a bad night, get back on that horse!!!! Work Smarter: listen to our FREE 8 weeks to SuperStripper Sales podcast.  I will attach the audio files to this blog, and also upload them to the Strip and Grow Rich  iTunes podcast.  The audio tutorial will give you little tips and tricks to help assimilate the basics of the DancerWealth course into your routine.

Strategy 2:

If you have the opportunity to travel…why not?  Strip and Grow Rich has had a long standing partnership with Traveling Entertainers, a booking agency that (once accepted) will negotiate a weekly base pay and travel accommodations.
