Moreover, candidates should have a solid theoretical understanding and plenty of practical knowledge about financial instruments (mostly derivatives) and the impact of economic events on the markets. A basic understanding of IT in finance will be appreciated, it might help to create automated trading tools or in identifying fields of trading that can be automated by VBA macros or SQL databases.

Perspectives for Equity Trader:

In this position, you can be promoted to Senior Equity Trader or to Manger of the Equity Trading department. As a manager, you will support the trading desk and represent the company at meetings with strategic clients. If you will be good enough, you can receive a job offer for the position of Director of the Investing Department. There is also the possibility to change the subject to trading underlying securities and become a commodity trader or currency trader.

Equity Trader Responsibilities:

  • analyzing amiable macroeconomic information and making trading decisions based on this
