I’ll admit, I was against Contouring for so long because I saw so many fails. And it looked like such a time-consuming, pain in the ass. But recently I started thinking about making my face appear thinner. (I have a very round face). And so I found this video on basic contouring. The artist uses the e.l.f. contouring palette and a few brushes:
I bought the palette and blush brush at Wal-Mart for under $10 and tried the techniques shown in the video, and it really does work! I was able to define my jawline and make my face appear thinner using the dark shade, and I was able to hide my dark undereye circles using the luminizer. On days when I don’t feel like doing the full-face (which is nearly every day), I brush the luminizer over my undereyes to hide the circles.
This is a great and inexpensive way to perfect the shape of your face for any camshows, videos or photo shoots. First, apply full-coverage foundation and any concealer needed to hide blemishes. Next, use pressed powder on your forehead, nose and chin in the same shade as your foundation to eliminate shine. Now, you are ready to contour. With the e.l.f palette and the techniques shown in the video, anyone can do this! Blush is optional. This only takes a few extra minutes and it’s worth it. Be sure to take the extra time to contour before going live on cam!
