Turn Your Key Business Relationship into Friendships

The more that you get to know people in your network the closer that you will become. It is important to focus on building long term and sustainable relationships with some people in your network.

While it is critical that you get to know people professionally, you should also get to know their personal side as well. You will find that you may have some common interests or life's experiences, which will deepen the bond. As a result, you will be able to connect on things outside of your professional relationship.

Take the time to go out socially from time to time. It is good to see how people act outside of a Business environment or situation. Chances are that you will see a new side of people. Hopefully, you will like what you see. Ideally, your social interaction will be a positive experience for your newly developed friendship.

When this happens, you are building trust and credibility. People like to do business with those who they trust. So mixing business and pleasure can work as long as you keep it in check. Be yourself so others can see you for who you are.  Relationships go both ways so make sure to build value and friendship on both sides.
