Engineering is the basis of any scientific advancement that the world has seen in the last century and thus, it is one of the most sought after professions. However, in order to be able to pursue a graduate course in Engineering, one must crack the Entrance exam for the same.

Held annually, this exam gives the candidates a chance to apply to their dream colleges which includes all the IITs and NITs. A 3 hour long exam, it is attempted by almost 12 lakh students every year. Students who intend on pursuing Architecture can also appear for this exam.

Preparing for a competitive exam might get overwhelming, and this one is no different.  It is quite difficult to solve objective questions in under a minute if the concepts of that subject are not fully understood. The books followed must be relevant to the concept and at the same time must be able to help you solve questions in an easier way. Here is a list of books that you can start preparing for your entrance exams with:

      1) Physics:

  • Concepts of Physics: Volume I and II by H.C.Verma
  • Fundamentals of Physics by Halliday, Resnik and Walker
  • Problems in General Physics by Irodoy ( Objective questions)

      2) Chemistry:

  • Modern’s ABC of Chemistry Volume I and II

  • Objective Chemistry for Competitive exams: Volume I,II and III

      3) Mathematics:

All in all, having a fixed timetable that allows you to practice concepts and problems everyday helps to a great extent. Work on your weak areas in every subject, attempt mock tests and most of all ask for help when you need it. Here is a list of institutes in Raipur to help you out with coaching if need be.
