Ways to get to know your Neighbours
Property search is a task that can be tough as you have to make a tough decision. Before you settle on choosing a house for you, you need to put into consideration that you will be living among people, Neighbours. They can make your stay in your new home a living hell or a good place that you may not want to leave. Remember, you may need to move from that house and if it’s a bad neighbourhood it may be hard to find someone to buy the property. Knowing your neighbourhood is important, get yourself introduced and tell them that you will be moving in soon. By introducing yourself, you can get to understand what type of people they are? Do they come from a different culture than yours? How their family is? Do they have children? For example, you might find that your neighbours are young college students who hold parties even until late night. Nobody wants to be disturbed by all that noise in the middle of the night.

Talk to other neighbours to know more about the area. Get to know the type of neighbour that is around you. You might be living next to a criminal. Nobody wants to know that their lives are in danger. Check to see if you will find empty or vacant buildings. They can be locations for criminal activities or other. These are factors that can devalue the property. Look at how well they take care of their property. Friendly neighbours tend to keep their compounds clean. Know if they have pets like dogs and their habitat. You might find that their dogs can be noisy especially at night. Look to see if their pets are well taken care of or neglected.

Make sure to check if there are production plants, factories, landfills or any hazard near your new property. It is good for property owners to understand that these might make the value of the housing decline if you are going to sell it. Noises and bad odour can make your stay unpleasant.

During property search, look at the developmental factors in your neighbourhood. Closed businesses and schools can be a bad sign that the community you are about to go it is not development oriented. It can be a sign of a bad neighbourhood. Take a walk around and know places such as shopping malls, cafes, parks and other businesses. New environments can be uncomfortable for you and your family. Create a rapport with your neighbours by introducing yourself to them. Friendly neighbours will let you know about the history of your neighbourhood and events that take place in their community. Invite them for a cup of tea, barbecue or a family event. This way you can build your relationship with them. Get to know what type of people they are, what they like and dislike, and their boundaries.

To meet new people and new neighbours stay outside the house in the garden or even the porch. You will be able to meet new neighbours who also want to interact with you.
