Early last month, reports surfaced about Alamo Manhattan finally getting underway on the new Bishop Arts Station mixed-use development, which is easily the largest such project to hit the Bishop Arts District neighborhood in recent memory. Developers first obtained approval for the new project back in March, but working to meet the standards of the Urban Design Peer Review Panel has somewhat slowed progress a bit since early summer. In addition, as part of the approval, Alamo Manhattan received $11.75 million in tax increment financing, but as part of the agreement, the development must also include a mixed-income residential portion, which could result in 20 of its units remaining affordable for the next 15 years. According to Alamo Manhattan’s website, the final version of Bishop Arts Station will consists of two buildings that house 216 units over four levels, with lifestyle amenities including a rooftop terrace with a fire pit and magnificent views of downtown Dallas, a saltwater infinity-edge swimming pool, a full resident lounge with an art studio, a top-of-the-line exercise facility, a pet wash station, and even additional bike storage and a bicycle repair room. As for what to expect inside units at Bishop Arts Station, look for the luxury finishes to include wood-style flooring in the main living areas, designer backsplashes, stone counters, 9 to 12-foot ceilings, premium kitchen appliances, and designer lighting throughout. Also noted is that Bishop Arts Station will also include 25,000 square feet of ground-level retail and restaurant space.
