Minnesota Pest Control Provides Thorough Treatments

Almost every home and Commercial Building has witnessed some type of insect infestation no matter the age of the structure. Many homeowners and business owners try do-it-yourself treatments with over-the-counter products without success. Hiring a qualified exterminator in Minnesota provides the correct treatment to rid the structure and property of these tiny pests and the damage they can cause.

Bed Bugs

These six-legged parasites are reddish-brown, flat and oval. They are only five millimeters long making them difficult to see. Although these insects do not transmit disease, their bites cause red marks and rashes. Some people experience allergic reactions, anemia, panic attacks and loss of sleep. These little pests are found in clothing, furniture, luggage, mattresses, bedding, pillows, rugs, curtains and pet beds. Female bedbugs lay eggs every day resulting in quick infestation.

Boxelder Bug

This half Inch Long insect has a black body and reddish wings. They are commonly found in boxelder, ash and maple trees. They do not cause significant damage in warm weather since they prefer the outdoors. Although they feed on trees, the effects of their feeding is very minimal. However, in cooler months they can make their way into homes and other buildings to find warmth. They are often found living behind siding and walls, around windows and in attics. They venture into homes and buildings as warm furnace air wakens them. As they move about to find food and water, their droppings stain what they come in contact with like walls and drapes. They do not bite nor reproduce indoors, but their presence in the home or commercial building is a nuisance.

Carpenter Ants

These large black ants are up to an inch long. They feed on and make nests and tunnels in wood. These tunnels can uproot and crack concrete driveways, patios and sidewalks. Building structures, basement walls and floor joices are weakened. Their presence is just as damaging to decks, fences, trees and wood furniture.
