Cheryl Howarth – Audio Engineer

  1. Tell us about your role at GMS?

Audio engineering mainly involves recording sound e.g. voiceovers, singers, Music for bands etc. I also produce music for clients by performance or sampling audio. I’m responsible for mixing the recorded sound/music to make it aesthetically pleasing to the ears!

  1. What do you like about your job?

I like that every day is different and I meet all sorts of interesting people – whether they are talented musicians or just looking to have some fun, I enjoy the session simply by doing what I love.

  1. What kind of music do you listen to?

I listen to a lot of different types of music, but my favourite genres are Soul/Motown and Acoustic Singer/Songwriter.

  1. Do you perform or write any music yourself?

I play keyboard in an Indie Rock bank called “Eric & The Bunny Boilers”. I also play the guitar, bass and sing a little in my spare time. I write and record my own songs as a hobby and to experiment with mixing techniques.
