Can I Use PVC Pipe with a UV Sterilizer?

Hello,

I'm looking to purchase a Trojan UV Max C4. After looking at your installation diagrams my question is, can I use PVC pipe and fittings?

Thanks,

Sharee L.

Sharee,

You can use PVC, but we don't recommend you connect the PVC directly to the UV light. Ultraviolet light can degrade the PVC, so it is better that you use Stainless Steel Flex lines in and out of the sterilizer. Flex lines are also preferable over hard PVC as they are easier to work with during installation and to remove at a later time if desired. We recommend Falcon flex lines, as they come in a variety of sizes and are extremely reliable - we even use them here on the treatment systems in our office.

You can browse all of our stainless Steel Flex Lines here. We hope this helps you with your UV installation.  If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to e-mail us at [email protected], or to contact us on Facebook.  Thanks for the letter!
