News reports recently emerged of two pedestrians dying after they were struck by a vehicle while crossing a busy Illinois highway. The Pedestrian Accident occurred in Machesney Park in Winnebago County.

A car fatally hit a man and a woman close to the intersection of Illinois Route 251 and Forest Hills Road. The driver remained at the scene of the pedestrian accident and cooperated with authorities.

The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the case. The sheriff reminded motorists to stay alert at all times and advised pedestrians to avoid crossing busy highways.
