My girlfriend always hinted to me that she did not want a diamond engagement Ring, but instead preferred a vintage coloured gemstone ring. About two months ago when I finally made the decision to propose, I was just randomly searching on google one night and I came across The Natural Sapphire Company. My research had told me that valuable sapphires are those that are not treated with heat. Many of the websites like the Blue Nile and Brilliant Earth had most of their sapphires heat treated, but The Natural Sapphire Company stood out to me because of their selection of untreated stones. Their website was also well designed and being able to create a custom ring and have the 3D image emailed to me was worth giving a try.

I was a little hesitant to make such a big purchase online, but the company seemed to have good reviews, they could trace their origin back to 1939, and their “In the Press” page located in the “About Us” section on their website put my concerns to rest. If you are worried about them being a reputable company, just check out that page and see how many times they’ve been mentioned by the media in news stories about sapphires.

My experience over the last two months has been amazing from start to finish. The Director of Sales, Caitlyn Perlman, was extremely helpful and patient with me. I must have around two dozen emails back and forth between us, over the course of two months, talking about everything from cut, colour, setting design, inclusions, type of gold, differences in stones, etc, etc. If it wasn’t for Caitlyn being there to respond to all my questions, this whole process would have been much harder. The completed ring finally arrived a few days ago and It looks amazing. I am so happy with the stone I chose. It is very beautiful and I can get hypnotized staring into it.

If you are still reading my review, I have not told you the best part yet. I purchased my ring from the Natural Sapphire Company for approx. $5,000 CAD (I live in Canada), and the ring was appraised today at $11,900 CAD by a reputable, certified appraiser in Toronto. I have absolutely no idea how that is possible. I can only guess that since the Natural Sapphire Company deals directly with mines, they cut out the middle man cost from their price? I really do not know the answer, my brain is just trying to come up with a rational explanation. Whatever the reason is, you can imagine my shock when I got the appraisal certificate. I know it’s hard to believe, I’m still trying to believe it myself. I never expected the ring to be valued at more than double what I paid.

To conclude, I definitely, 100% recommend The Natural Sapphire Company for anyone looking for sapphire jewelry, especially engagement rings. My experience has been amazing and I couldn’t have done it without them. I found the perfect girl, and now I have the perfect ring. Next is to have the perfect proposal, and then the perfect wedding.
