There’s a ton of Tech news to get to! Maybe you didn’t get to it all, because who’s got time for that? Well, that’d be us — here are a handful of stories from the week that was that might affect you!
Lyft is coming to Toronto
Lyft used to be an also-ran to clear ride-hailing leader Uber, but after Uber’s extremely bad year, Lyft is making moves! They’ve made progress in locking down autonomous driving partnerships, and now they’re finally going international. The company announced on Monday that it will be coming to Toronto, Canada, with some reports suggesting that Ottawa is next.
Of course, Lyft still works the same way as Uber, and that means angry Taxi Drivers. Ottawa taxi drivers are expressing frustration that they’re being held to regulations that don’t restrict Uber and Lyft. For what it’s worth, it doesn’t sound like those taxi drivers are trying to chase either company out — probably because there’s not much hope of that happening.
