The next big thing in club wear just hit Kickstarter, and it’s already blown past its funding goal. F.lashes are strings of LED lights that make your Eyelashes shine, and the designers behind them have even gotten the lights to move according to your movements!

They look super simple to use, too. Using the same kind of adhesive used for now hopelessly boring regular fake lashes, the lights can be applied over your eyelashes. They’re connected to a circuit board that can be clipped to your hair on the back of your head. Two small wires connect the lashes to the board, but they’re barely there — from the pictures, it looks a little like wearing super thin glasses frames.

But, it’s a Kickstarter project, and so things are a little rough. Probably the biggest bummer is that the lights won’t change color — you’ll have to pick which color lights you want once the Kickstarter campaign has ended. The pictures also make it look like the circuit board is completely exposed — here’s hoping they eventually put it in a little plastic case or something. Stretch goals!

In fact, if you’re familiar with Arduino or other microcontroller platforms, making your own f.lashes would probably amount to a fun afternoon project. Otherwise, they look like a fun addition to your club gear, especially thanks to all the light patterns — they can flash, sparkle, wink, wave, or move back and forth in a direct nod to Knight Rider. The team says to expect about four hours of battery life on one coin cell battery — depending on how hard you usually go, you might want to bring a spare.

If you want some for yourself, you can secure a set with a $40 contribution to the Kickstarter campaign. The team plans to ship out orders as they’re placed, but shipping won’t start until January — that’s a long time from now, so as always, Kickstarters beware.
