Pax Era Vaporizer Review

chipchickpick1The first herbal concentrate pen to join Pax’s roster of vaporizers is here. Meet the Pax Era. Announced alongside the more expensive Pax 3 vaporizer, the Era promises to deliver flavorful vapor in a lightweight and small form factor. When paired with the Pax Vapor app, the Bluetooth-enabled pen can be controlled via smartphone for a fully customizable vaping experience. Keep reading to find out if good things truly do come in small packages.

At 20 grams and 3.3 inches, the slate-colored Pax Era is lightweight and pocket-sized. The bead-blasted anodized aluminum finish gives this discreet pen a great feeling texture. The full-color LED light can be used as an indicator for temperature and battery life, and can even be used to play games.

Controlling the Era is simple and intuitive. Give the vape a couple shakes, and the four-petal LED light will illuminate. Remove the cartridge and the LED light cycles through four different temperature choices, ranging from 520° to 790°. Replace the cartridge at the desired temperature and the instant heating pen is ready to use.

With a built-in mouthpiece, the non-refillable herbal concentrate cartridges we tested came exclusively from Bloom Farms. Produced in California’s Sierra Foothill mountains, the flavorful concentrate made for a very tasty vaping experience. But not only does Bloom Farms produce product with very high standards of quality, the company also gives back – with every purchase, Bloom Farms will provide a meal to someone in need. And thanks to the cartridge’s unique dual-end wicking feature combined with the highest temperature setting, huge clouds are the new norm with the Pax Era.

The stealthy Era is meant to be used on the go. Users will enjoy spending more time vaping and less time charging thanks to the pen’s long lasting battery life. Shaking the vape illuminates the four-petal LED, displaying the amount of battery life left. A full charge takes about 45 minutes via Micro USB.

Pairing the Era with the Pax Vapor app via Bluetooth takes just a few shakes of the pen. Once connected, the app can be used to dial in a precise temperature, customize the lighting scheme, lock the device and even play three different games, although the controls were difficult to figure out and made the games feel more like a novelty than a feature.
