NOVEMBER BIKING

How about the weather in Alexandria this week? Last month I was shoveling and this month I’ve been raking leaves I missed before the snowfall. Any free time I have had I’ve also been taking advantage of the fantastic Central Lakes Trail and heading to Brophy Park. If you have yet experienced the Bike Trails throughout Brophy Park (located at the west and northwest sides of Lake Brophy), I highly recommend checking them out. The trails (approximately 6 miles) are all one-way and marked so you will know if you are moving in the wrong direction. They are also marked by level of difficulty (green circle (easier), blue square (more difficult), black diamond (most difficult, use caution), double black diamond (most difficult, use extra caution). Using a mountain bike or fat tire bike is advised but I’ve been able to handle all of the trails on my Trek hybrid. It isn’t ideal and I take the more difficult trails slowly but on all, there is a smile plastered on my face the entire ride. They are all very fun and the views offered are really nice. Along with bike trails there are hiking trails. I’ve been out for walks on them and that same smile is on my face. Beautiful.

In October I recorded some aerial video and that is what you will see in the video I have embedded. Notice the playground at the beginning of the video. I’ve yet to see it not being used and enjoyed by kids. It is really a high quality playground with educational elements.
