Eitex Helps Charity Wakefield Street Kitchens

Eitex donates Dell Laptop and Microsoft 365 to Wakefield-based Charity.

Wakefield Street Kitchen is a charity that was set up by founder Anna Natasha Howard. The charity has been in operation for two years run by volunteers. Anna initially set up the charity to feed the homeless on a Wednesday evening in Wakefield City Centre. The charity then changed this to serve anyone who is struggling.

The charity started in August 2018, and the first kitchen fed 30 people. Today the charity is serving over 100 meals each week. As well as hot meals the charity provides clothing and toiletries for vulnerable adults, all donated by residents and businesses. During half-term, the charity deliveries to more families covering the free school meals not being given, showing that this is a much-needed provision within Wakefield.

When the restrictions of Covid 19 started, Wakefield Street Kitchens couldn’t run their usual kitchen, so they adapted to deliver their food to the people in temporary accommodation and the wider community who are in need.

Laptop for new premises

Wakefield Street Kitchen has recently acquired premises which they hope to be in with the next two weeks. The premises will be made into a large kitchen to cook from and store the donations. They are also planning to have an office where individuals can contact them directly for help.

People in temporary accommodation in the Wakefield district is at its highest. WSK is hoping that the expansion will help the charity reach even more vulnerable people across Wakefield.

To help coordinate efforts, Eitex has donated a brand new Dell laptop complete with Microsoft 365 and free annual IT Support! Microsoft 365 includes email, Microsoft Office, Teams, and cloud storage, all tools required to run any organisation.
