Change Can Be a Good Thing!

Things change … in Business, and in our personal lives. It’s inevitable. And when things change in one area, it almost always causes change to happen in another.

If you’re going to succeed in business without falling into complete overwhelm, you’ve got to be able to make the adjustments needed to keep things on an even keel.

Take Blogging for example. And let’s use MY blogging schedule as the example.

Several years ago, I participated in a blogging challenge. The challenge was to blog every day. I chose my “every day” to mean I’d blog weekdays only and take weekends off.

I was blogging Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, AND Friday. I kept the pace up for several months, but realized that while it taught me a lot about blogging and got me on a roll, 5 days a week was way too aggressive a schedule for me to continue for very long. So, I dropped Tuesdays and Fridays (I was already sending out a newsletter on Fridays anyway). After maybe a year or so, I dropped Thursdays, and continued to do a Marketing Tip on Mondays and my main post on Wednesdays. I’ve kept that schedule up for at least a couple of years now, and it’s gone well. Until now.

If you read my blog on a regular basis, you’ll see I didn’t post anything on Monday. As I said, things change in both our business and personal lives. Still using me as the example … I’m older. I’ve been in business for almost 30 years, so it’s scaled down a bit from what it use to be. I want to spend less time blogging and more time with my great grandkids and other family members. In order for me to keep the balance I want between business and personal, I’ve decided to blog once a week instead of twice. Going forward, my choice to maintain balance is to continue blogging on Wednesdays, and send my newsletter out every other Friday. It continues to serve my purposes and meet my need, yet provides the balance I need to maintain my joy and lessen my overwhelm.

I’ve also made a few changes in my Social Media presence. Not because of time or effort constraints, but more for peace of mind due to the unsettling climate of things taking place around us right now. I still share my blog posts on social media, and continue to post here and there, but spend less time scrolling through some of the “other” stuff going on. I do intend to bump my marketing presence up a bit more on Facebook, but continue to maintain my distance from some of the more personal stuff.

As you’ve seen, blogging and social media are the areas where I’ve chosen to make adjustments. But what about you?

Do you have overwhelm in a specific area of your life that might require a few adjustments? What could they be? Take a look at the things you do on a daily basis … in business, and in life. Are there things you need to scale down or ramp up? Really give it some thought and consideration.

One of the many services our team offers our clients is consultation. Consultation regarding improving existing strategies and services. Consultation creating new strategies and services. Whatever the need.

If you’re feeling the pinch of responsibility and a bit of overwhelm, let me know. We’d be happy to schedule a strategy session to see how you can make the adjustments you need to get back on track, or simply continue to grow your business with confidence.

Just let me know. It’s what we do and we’re happy to help!
