Good friends support our efforts. They listen when we need them – a “sounding board” of sorts. When they listen without judgment we’re happy. It’s when they plant a seed of doubt within our spirit that ourefforts to attain an authentic life are thwarted.
Let’s say you are fed up with your weight. You join a gym to get back in shape. One friend ALWAYS calls you on your way to your Personal Training session. When you confront her, she responds by saying that your personal training sessions are too costly, that you can’t afford it, and that you like candy and pop too much. Those comments override your efforts to do better because your friend has sabotaged your efforts.
Be careful in asking for a second opinion especially when your spirit is telling you specifically how to handle your life. A second opinion is not always a good thing; especially if it lacks enthusiasm.
Don’t undermine your authenticity by caving in to someone else’s second thoughts. You can’t afford to hear their negative tapes.
Pay attention to PROVIDENCE. A whole stream of events raises your favor when you’re on a positive path.
