Signed by hand and dated lithograph from 1915 by S.J. de Mesquita.Size of the image is 33 x 28 cm.The wooden frame with mat is 57 x 47 cm.The work is in good condition, though it has some light creases on the edge of the paper, outside the image.The Jewish artist S.J. de Mesquita was the teacher of M.C. Escher.His sensitivistic work, where this is a great example of, was made between the heavy print work. They are fictional scenes with strange creatures like in a dream. They often refer to the darker sides of existence.De Mesquita was arrested by the Germans in 1943 and deported to Auswitsch, where he was murdered.
