Growing your business can be hard as a girlboss, especially when life gets in the way, as it so often does. But this mindset hack, originally from Marie Forleo’s book Everything is Figureoutable, can change your business and life for the better.

Life can be really, really sh*tty sometimes. I’m talking from experience here — being bullied throughout high school, hating my appearance, getting diagnosed with bipolar disorder, having chronic tension headaches every minute of every day, wondering if I would ever make it as a successful girlboss… the list goes on.

But when I read Marie Forleo’s new book, I realised she’s actually right. Her mantra “everything is figureoutable” is life-changing and the best mindset hack to grow your business.

According to Marie, every problem is figureoutable, unless it’s a fact of life like death, a law of nature like gravity, or a problem that isn’t enough of a priority for you to figure out. And just having this mindset can turn things around for you and give you the motivation and drive to find a solution to every problem.

Okay, I know what you’re thinking: “Swati, this is easy to say, but I’m dealing with zero clients/medical bills/relationship troubles/financial struggles. Trust me, these things aren’t figureoutable.”

Read that again. If you’re telling yourself “these things aren’t figureoutable” and giving up even before you start, do you really think you’re going to find an answer to your problems? Are things magically going to work for you? Why would a solution manifest in your life when you’re a) not having faith in yourself or the Universe, and b) not taking action to change your circumstances?

It won’t.

Life is hard sometimes, and it can feel hopeless and frustrating and disappointing. That’s okay, seriously. Your feelings are valid. Just accept that feeling and tell yourself, “this is figureoutable.” And use that faith as the concrete base on which you set your goals, strategies, mindset, and action to make your problems less heavy, if not gone altogether.
