Dr. Jack Kavanaugh, an MBA, an MD, a founder, a chairman, a business leader, and what not, started his career as a dentist to finally being a great businessman. Dr. Kavanaugh fulfilled his dream of becoming a dentist and then a great businessman even after meeting with a severe accident, breaking his neck and legs so much that he couldn’t resume his dentistry. Although, it didn’t stop him to excel in his life, and went on to complete an MBA from U.C.L.A. and worked with a former partner, in mergers and acquisitions, with whom he later founded International Strategy Consulting Group in 1984.
Making a career in private financing, he did not leave his passion for the medical field and completed M.D. from U.S.C. and even his surgical residency at U.C.L.A’s Jules Stein Institute. During the primary year of his residency, Dr. Kavanaugh formed Amerident, which was awarded 30 awards for community service and a state congressional medal of honor for work with infants.
Dr. Jack Kavanaugh worked with great skills and expertise in whichever field he put his hands in like Team Global, whose share price rose from 11 cents to $27 per share, under his guidance. He later joined a biotechnology firm named Calhoun Vision, Inc. and here they prepared a light adjustable intraocular lens for cataract surgery, the first in the world.
Later, Dr. Jack Kavanaugh founded ZetaRx Biosciences, Inc., which was a leader in Immunotherapy for treating cancer patients. He continued to be the CEO and Chairman of ZetaRx for around 4 years before it became the core element of Juno Therapeutics, which turned to be the largest biotech IPO in 2014.
He then later co-founded Novonco Therapeutics Inc. with Dr. Larry Overman and Dr. David Horne. Novonco later proved to be a leader in epigenetics and other therapeutic researches platforms. With his excellent business expertise, he raised many businesses and industries’ from scratch to skies.
With all his exceptional business skills, knowledge, and expertise, Dr. Jack Kavanaugh and his wife also supported different charitable societies in and around Los Angeles. Some of it includes the City of Hope National Medical Center in Durate, which is one of the 41 comprehensive cancer centers authorized by the National Cancer Insitute in the United States to eliminate many deadly diseases. Additionally, they also support Aviva, The Robinson Gardens, Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, and Art of Elysium.
