Life is busy. Trust me, I get it. However some home repairs that have been on your ‘to-do list’ for a long time should not ignored. Some simple fixes may save you from major headaches down the road.
Water is a homes worst enemy. Not only does it cause incredible amounts of damage to the “bones” of your house, it can cause sever aesthetic damage as well. If your roof is missing shingles, getting old, or just worn in parts get it fixed. If you find small leaks inside your attack make sure you get them looked at as soon as possible.
If large Foundation Cracks start to appear, even if small ones start to appear and spread this is something that you should have looked at immediately. The foundation is an integral part of your home. Maintaining its structure is imperative.
Even if a tap is leaking just a little, get it fixed. Over time water is going to cause you more and more problems. Take care of it at the outset and save a lot of problems and money!
Mold is horrible and hard to remove. Starting to see some forming somewhere? Have it taken care of as soon as possible.
Keep The Eavestrough Clear
Ideally you should clean them out twice a year. Clogs drains can lead to ice damming, water backing up, or even pouring over the top of the troughs causing other issues.
Keep Your Vents Clean
Dryer, Fireplace, Furnace, etc etc… Make sure your vents are all clear on the outside of the home
