There is a lot of fuss about anonymous chat and complete user privacy in today’s world. Imagine a perfect world where whatever you say or type for that matter (the case nowadays) goes without being judged by anyone. People are allowed to say what they feel whether it’s regarding their relationship with someone, feedback regarding a company whose services they used or someone advising their friend against suicide and depression.
Why was this Feature Created?
CU, it seems, has hit the spot, bringing anonymity to a chatting app. It was already a private messaging app and they have further strengthened the appeal for privacy with this new feature. This new feature is made by keeping in mind the freedom of expression for users and enabling them to say what they want to.
Benefits of this Feature?
An anonymous chat feature is great for people who are dealing with mental health issues who are afraid of stigma. Anonymity provides them a sense of safe environment to express themselves. A person will be more candid when nobody knows who you are and you can say anything without fear. If somebody attacks your anonymous identity, it will never harm or affect you in any way since it doesn’t affect your ‘real self’. You can feel free to say things to lighten your weight about a traumatic incident that happened to you, any mental health related experiences or difficult experiences you are going through in life.
- Professionally, you can give or receive honest feedback and criticism at work such as to improve and eliminate any weaknesses without the fear of repercussions from a senior or junior for that matter.
- Personally, your close ones and your friends can be more honest with you this way telling you what you did wrong and how you can improve. You have the ability to tell them the same without being identified as who sent the message.
The crux of it all!
Simply speaking, people feel comfortable entering in conversations with others anonymously, such that to gain a sense of support without revealing their identity. CU’s anonymous chat feature lest you have advice from people that you don’t know which means they don’t have any agenda for you or against you in any way when talking to you providing you with totally honest opinions and wisdom.
Where is the feature on the app and how to access it?
- The anonymous chat feature has been introduced in two ways inside CU communication app. It has been integrated on the contacts screen to the left side with an ‘Opera Mask’ icon being displayed.
- Secondly, it has been integrated into individual chat boxes as an ‘Opera Mask’ icon. While the anonymous feature icon on the contacts screen represents the ‘Inbox’ where you will receive messages from other people anonymously, the icon inside an individual user’s chat box lets you send an anonymous message to that user. You will receive a confirmation after the message is sent successfully.
Opening a new door and introducing a revolutionary new approach towards how people will talk to each other, this anonymous chat feature will be taking CU Communication to new heights with the possibility of increased count in already solid user base.
