Data Loggers: Products For The IoT of Tomorrow

The advent of industrial IoT has led data Loggers to play a crucial role in almost all industrial process for keeping track and recording of the exact conditions over a pre-specified time period. However, compatibility usually becomes an issue when it comes to integrating new data logging systems with pre-existing systems with data acquisition functionality. EcoAxis, a part of A.T.E. Data acquisition and logging products

AxisLog-MI hardware data logger is one such product by EcoAxis (a Business Unit of A.T.E Enterprises Private Limited. AxisLog integrates a variety of features and specifications that are not usually found in other data acquisition system of its size. The environmental specifications that it can withstand are from 0 to 55 ºC, with ambient humidity anywhere upto 90%. It is portable and easy to configure and install on client side systems and has a dimension of about 6 cm X 6.28 cm X 2.18 cm and a 3 MB capacity. It also supports a number of protocols other than the one it comes configured for by default, by using an external converter.

The interface includes an RS232 port serial interface, with the provision for externals converter for RS485. Data transfer can be done over FTP to any Remote Server. One of the best features that being offered is the configuration over the air (OTA) that enables the user to update the device keys over devices like cellphones etc.

There are some applications that require more advanced features. AxisLog loggers are more effective than conventional loggers as they can store up to 100 parameters. Also, these loggers can update the data which is acquired to the remote server through FTP, LAN, and GPRS. The best point about this data logging system is that it can be a standalone system, requiring very little interference. It measures about 4.5 cm X 7.7 cm X 11.4 cm and has a user interface in the form of inbuilt HTML pages having a tabular format for all the parameters and values that are acquired. This can be accessed from a local PC by configuring it through a web server. It is configured and formatted for FAT32 file type and supports external memory element up to the size of 4 GB.
