The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), Eket Field Office, said it has sealed 15 fuel stations across the state for diverting and selling the product above the government approved pump price of N145 per litre, Daily Trust reports.
The Operations Controller of DPR in the state, Mr. Tamunoiminabo Kingsley-Sundaye, told newsmen in Eket during its surveillance operations, that the fuel stations were sealed last week in Eket, Ikot Ekpene, Obot Akara and Uyo local government areas.
He warned that any station found guilty of diverting the product would pay a fine of N6m or N200 per litre for the quantity of product loaded from the depot. He said the agency had also started monitoring stations intensively to ensure that they dispensed petrol at N145 per litre.
