Why it’s time for real estate agents to take to the skies with drone video footage

In 2015, video content was voted by 52 percent of all marketers as generating the biggest return-on-investment. As such, real Estate professionals should definitely consider making their own videos to market their listings, and what better way to create stunning video Footage than with a drone?

Real estate has already adopted numerous technologies for its marketing efforts. Things such as virtual 3-D tours, virtual staging, email newsletters and scheduled drip campaigns are commonplace in the industry. Video footage is also a key component, with one recent study suggesting that a professionally shot film placed on a landing page can increase conversions by up to 80 percent.

For real estate pros, the thing to remember is that location matters, and drones provide one awesome way of showing off the surrounding area.

Drone footage advantages:

No matter if you’re marketing a single-family home, an office space or a huge retail center, clients can benefit from knowing more about where the property is located. As such, drone footage is the best possible way to do just that as it provides a birds’ eye view of the location, capturing the general vibe and feeling of the place.

Using drone footage, agents can show off the property’s relationship with its entire community, be it an office space, retail space, condominium or a family home.

Of course that doesn’t mean you can just rush out to the shops to buy a drone and take-off into the skies at once. There are a few considerations to be mindful of, not least the fact that whoever operates the drone must be licensed to do so by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) first.

Most professional drones these days come with high-definition video cameras capable of recording excellent quality footage. In addition, they feature sophisticated onboard stabilization technology in order to minimizes the amount of editing required. Still, there are safety concerns to be aware of too – for example, it’s illegal to operate drones within five miles of any airport. In addition, operators need to be mindful of things like power lines that could potentially cause accidents to happen.
