It is here. Star Wars Episode 8 The Last Jedi is out today. This is brain burstingly exciting for just so many reasons, but one of them being the fact it is Carrie Fisher's final appearance in the role that brought her forever into our hearts and psyche, Leia.
Leia is back for one more swan song and to celebrate the most bad ass-est Princess in the Galaxy (far, far, away) we have teamed up with @penguinrandomhouse for a stellar giveaway of the newly launched last book by Carrie, The Princess Diarist and one of the above space necklaces for four winners!
The Princess Diaries is half intimate memoir (and actual excerpts from her 1976 journal) of her time on set of the first Star Wars movie, as a seventeen year with an all consuming crush on her co-star (yep, it's him) and half her last musings on fame and life before her final travel through hyper space, almost a year ago. Here's a little excerpt from the book, which you buy here:
It was all going just a little too well
If I wasn’t careful I’d be happy soon
Heaven’s no place for one who thrives on hell,
Who prefers the bit to the silver spoon.
Then when I’d almost resigned myself to winning
When it seemed my bright future would never dim
When my luck looked as though it was just beginning I met him.
- from Carrie Fisher’s journal, 1976
And here's the necklaces in the giveaway!
Plus some more that make us think of all the adventures of Princess Leia Organa of Alderaan.
