A Gift From Woolworths

Amazon UK - Kindle / Paperback
Oh my, oh my! As if the rest of the wonderful Woolworths series wasn't good, Elaine Everest has delivered above and beyond in this lovely instalment. Following on from Wartime At Woolworths, A Gift From Woolworths is exactly that.
The girls we've grown to love over the series of five books have grown so much and now the time has come for them to start piecing together their tattered lives. The first couple of chapters touched my core as new life flittered through the pages with main character Sarah going into labour. Now being a mum myself makes me realise the pain, anxiety and stress involved with the onset of motherhood, let alone with a husband out of the picture.
There's some truly lovely moments in here, which I won't spoil, that are really quite touching and others that will make you snigger. One of which involves dirty vegetables.
A Gift From Woolworths had me engaged from start to finish and although the horrific scenes of war have ended, it makes me sad that the book had to end. There's a lovely ending for the girls as they get the best of both in their lives, with family and their beloved Woolworths coming in to save the day.
I've really enjoyed reading the latest segment of the Woolworths series from Elaine Everest and I look forward to seeing what's up next.
