Juliet Shakespeare is done with love. With a growing floristry business and an adorable daughter to raise, life after separating from her husband is complicated enough.
But when handsome single father, Ryan Sutherland, arrives in town, everything changes. As much as she tries to distract herself, Juliet can't help but be drawn to the easy-going Romeo next door and the way he makes her feel.
Photographer Ryan is only back in his hometown for a few months so there's no point falling for someone he'll just have to say goodbye to. But he didn't account for Juliet - the intriguing and beautiful, red-haired woman next door. And in her, he might just have found everything he ever wanted . .

Book four of the incredible Shakespeare sister series has finally arrived! Following on from Absent In The Spring, the story continues as the fourth sister, Juliet, gets her turn at dominating the storyline.
Enduring a painstaking year of separation from her philandering husband, Thomas, Juliet eagerly awaits the day she will be divorced from him and his snooty family. Although Thomas has everything he desires, including his mistress, Juliet walks a tight line as Thomas makes it almost impossible to breath let alone find love. Making matters worse is little Poppy who is in the middle of the battlefield.
What I truly love about By Virtue Falls is the classic falling in love with the one next door scenario. No matter how many times I read this type of plot I'm always engrossed in the character development and the latest release from Carrie Elks is no different. It's very easy to like Juliet as she works hard to get her floral business off the ground. With more than one snobbish mums putting her down at the expensive school for Poppy, Juliet faces an ongoing battle for approval and finally gets some release with new neighbour Ryan.
By Virtue Falls is an accurate title of the book and absolutely provides the promise in the name. Despite the obnoxious Thomas and his beastly family, the entire book has a heartwarming feel which emanates a sense of longing and desire. There is nothing in the book I can find fault in and I would readily recommend this book as the perfect accompaniment to a warm hot chocolate.
