Downloading books onto your Kindle is easy as 1,2,3. But what if you're not sending a book straight from your most recent Amazon order?
Being sent a PDF or MOBI file via a friend, colleague or direct from a publisher is another valid way to get some of the latest reads to your Kindle, but there is some action that needs to be taken before those files can wing their way onto your Kindle device.
The process is easy, it doesn't take long and once it's done you won't have to keep badgering your friends that you haven't received your book yet in future.
But why do you have to do it? The process allows you to closely monitor the sources from where files come from. By only allowing specific Email addresses to send you files there is a much lower chance of downloading content which have bugs encrypted.
Once you have your Amazon account up and ready in front of you, we are ready to begin. Follow the steps below to add an Email Address to your approved list for Kindle documents.
How To Add Emails To Your Kindle Approved List
Once you have logged in to your Amazon account, move over to the right hand side of the screen and hover over Your Account. Scroll down the list and click on Manage Your Content And Devices.
A new set of options is now displayed on screen. Move towards the center of the screen and select Preferences. Scroll down the Preferences screen and click on Personal Document Settings.
After clicking on Personal Document Settings, a small menu appears directly beneath where you have just clicked. Before continuing take note of the first option which is now available. Send To Kindle Email Settings displays the email address which any book files need to be sent to in order for you to receive them on your Kindle. If the user asks .... they just need to send the file as an attachment to the displayed Kindle email.
Nect up, scroll down the page slightly to where it says Approved Personal Document Email List.
Any emails listed here are approved by you to send files directly to your Kindle or Kindle device. To add a new email to your list, look at the bottom of the current list to find Add A New Approved Email Address, click on it.
The final step of the process is simply to add the email address your friends etc will be sending you the file from. Simply type it in to the box available, make sure the entire address is correct, then click Add Address. Job done!
This process only needs to be completed once per email. Once it is on the list you don't need to repeat the process, unless if you want to delete the email. In which case the delete button will be clearly displayed next the email address on your approved list.
