Here Comes Summer

It’s been pretty hot today, 28°C/82°F here in Cyprus, and  it’s still hot at 4pm, despite it clouding over. Wall to wall blue sky means, hopefully, the Summer is coming and we’re not due any more bad weather. The picture above was taken at 06:30 and I could see from the sky it was going to be a hot day.

My Garden is blooming, as you would expect for someone who has two things to do in life, gardening and writing. Combining the two and writing about gardening is an added bonus.

Everything I’ve grown (apart from these beauties above) I’ve grown from seed originally and it’s pretty satisfying watching the seeds sprout and then bloom. Naturally it’s disappointing when the reverse happens and nothing grows. That’s happened with a few seeds this year, yet some others have grown and matured extremely well, like the pansies.

I suppose that’s exactly what life is all about, in some things we succeed and in others we fail. As you can tell, four weeks of isolation and social distancing have made me into a philosopher.

It looks as if we may well be in lockdown for another few weeks, possibly until the end of May. By that time my garden will be in full bloom and so full of colour it will rival Kew Gardens in London. And I may even be a philosopher to rival Plato.
