It's that time of year again...
And speaking of scenes, I've had the privilege of reading some of the most amazingly scary, tension-filled scenes.
Even more, a powerful narrator enhances those words and dialogue.
So I present to you my favorite audiobooks with those scenes that have rocked me to my core with the powerful marriage of word and voice.
#4: Ready to Die by Lisa Jackson; Narrated by Natalie Ross
In this book, Alvarez gets her story. And thank God (Can't stand Pescoli's kids). While I'm not crazy about the direction Ms. Jackson took with her (too many emotions), Natalie Ross does her suspenseful words justice.
#3: A Cold Day for Murder: A Kate Shugak Mystery by Dana Stabenow; Narrated by Marguerite Gavin
Not only did I love this main character (self-sufficient and not ditzy), but the suspenseful plot and vivid combined with a narrator that does all of that justice is worth checking out. You definitely should!
#2: Away from the Dark by Aleatha Romig; Narrated by David Ledoux, Erin deWard, and Kevin T. Collins
Three amazing narrators on a story that just...yikes! I still get chills!
#1: Karma: The Children Want Revenge by Grant McKenzie; Narrated by Noah Michael Levine
Almost the entire time, I rooted for the villains. Yes, it's a terrible thing to say, but when you read and listen to what these victims—children—are going through and what drives them to kill, all with the tension-building team of Grand McKenzie and Noah Michael Levine, you'll feel the same way.
That's all for now...I'll be awake awhile.
Anyway, what's your favorite audiobook pick for the halloween? Let me know in the comments!
