Reading Poetry

The adultress whispers
Behind the pages
Begging him, stay.

He grabs his pants,
Slips out through
A stanza break

Enjambment man
Run from fate,
Juxtaposition of two

Loves, lyrically lost.
Title wife weeps
Silenced by his dash

Away. Another line
Breaks her heart.
Aloud, a woman reads

Interrupting Mind’s
Romantic monologue
With a wondering word.
