best Sci fi Novels of this century.

Kinda like that cutoff. I was looking at my previous list of best sci-fi novels of all time and I have to say that this list seems weak and I don't even know if it's good enough for our times. For these times. Canticle might be worth it, given that we're close to WWIII.... again. But other than that, we have the Road and that's it from today. Still, I'm trying to think of a more current list.

What I realized is that it has to be more than just popularity (so World War Z is fun but wouldn't make my list) and how easy it is to read. I'll also say that I need to read more to have a complete list. So I'll get on that. I do think Exhalation would make the list. And, given some of the other shorts I've read, I'll look into collections more. This is How You lose the Time War would make the list, I sense. Would 1Q84 make it? Not sure if it's sci-fi, per say. But it might given the lack of my reading, that seems like the case. I'll also make a case for the Broken Stars anthology. It's not done, usually, but I do think anthologies are worth it.
