HOUDINI IN RUSSIA, REVISITED

In earlier posts we had the pleasure of discovering a certain Mr. Fedorov, a Russian Houdiniphile who displayed courage above and beyond the call of duty when researching Houdini’s adventures in Russia.

We’ve now learned that the indefatigable Mr. Andrey Fedorov is none other than chief historian of the Russian Association of Magicians! He’s just given an original presentation on Houdini at the Fifth Magic History Gathering at The Magic Circle in London.

His conclusions are summarized in the graphic. He challenges much of the commonly accepted story - in particular the legendary escape from the prison van! We’ve been engaged in a lively correspondence with Mr. Fedorov on all the details, and will present our in-depth research over the next few posts.
