"God has given you an amazing tool to walk in baby faith."

A thought by Michael Todd, from his book, Crazy Faith. (p. 24). The Crown Publishing Group. Kindle Edition.  (Click on the book title to go to Amazon to buy the book.)

So, what is it?

Michael continues, "If you can’t figure out what your first step of faith should be, God has given you an amazing tool to walk in baby faith. It’s called your imagination. That’s right, your imagination. Now, I need you to do something that might seem a little crazy, depending on where you’re reading this book. (If you’re on the treadmill, proceed with caution.) Close your eyes. No, seriously; read the next few sentences, and then close your eyes.

"Imagine yourself in your favorite vacation spot, sitting next to someone who makes you happy and sipping unlimited refills of your favorite drink. You’ve got ten seconds. Go!"

He says, "Ahh…didn’t that feel good? It’s okay if you took longer than ten seconds. I want you to understand the power of your Imagination. I’m sitting in my office writing these words to you, but in my mind, I just went to Aruba. I could smell salt water. I could feel warm white sand between my toes, hear the laughter of children playing nearby, and see Natalie lounging on the beach chair next to me. I could taste the cool, refreshing virgin piña colada, with three cherries and a shot of grenadine, that I could see myself drinking from a pineapple in my hand.

"Excuse me while I book a flight right now.""Imagination is not mere child’s play; it is a powerful force given to us by our Creator. Its root word is image, and we are created in the image of God with the power to imagine what is not yet tangible but can be realized. That’s crazy! You may have stopped using your imagination because somebody said you need to grow up and start adulting, but I’m telling you, it’s time to revive it again. Imagination is way too powerful to be left sitting in the toy box."

He goes on, "You can be sitting in a place that is the exact opposite of what you desire, then Close your eyes and see yourself exactly where you want to be. (Go ahead; do it again!) You could be bedridden in a full body cast, but when you close your eyes, you can imagine yourself healed and walking again. You and your kids could wake up in your one-bedroom apartment listening to water drip into a bucket under the most recent ceiling leak, but then you close your eyes and see yourself being handed the keys to your beautiful new four-bedroom, two-bath home in a safe, quiet neighborhood. You could be at Christmas dinner sitting next to your drunk uncle John with other family members arguing across the table but then close your eyes and see a peaceful, joyful family get-together where everyone is showing each other love and sharing testimonies of God’s faithfulness. You could even be in a jail cell, counting down the days until you’re able to hold your child again, but when you close your eyes, through the power of imagination, you’re at her seventh birthday party, snapping pics with glittery unicorns and princess tiaras."

He then says, "Don’t belittle your imagination! It’s God given. It’s divine. Those daydreams could be God trying to show you a glimpse of the future that is possible for you if you would only believe Him enough to move toward it. No matter how small your baby step is, taking it still requires faith. And trust me, there is big power in small faith."

And that is great to realize today, isn't it?  So, are you imagining? Yes, yes! #continuethought
