tsu is a social platform similar to Facebook that allows users to earn revenue from their original content. Up until three months ago, users were able to promote their posts and recruit new members on Facebook.
However, siting excessive spam, Facebook:
- Stopped users posting anything that contained tsu.co
- Stopped users sending personal messages containing tsu.co
- Deleted all references to tsu.co including those in old messages.
- Blocked tsu's Facebook API.
Using the Facebook's API Data taht is shared with tsu, the reported frequency (spam frequency) is roughly one-third the spam frequency of the average Facebook, Inc. API-integrated application.
So rather than being an attempt to block spam, this seems to be an attempt to control competition, and monopolize the industry (Instagram, who are owned by Facebook also blocked tsu).
One wonders why a multi-billion dollar company with billions of users would block tsu - tsu is a fledgling company that has 4 million users with probably only a couple of hundred thousand active users.
