For a Creative, or creative entrepreneur, rest isn’t a break from the process. It is the process.
So around here, we start each week with day of deliberate creative rest… A day to switch off. Lie low. Be present. Let go.
For me, that day is Sunday. Maybe that doesn’t suit you but one day out of seven, have a lazy day. All your projects and people will benefit, and none more than you.
Each Sunday I link to a teacher who specializes in intentional rest. This week it’s Dan Howard.
Dan calls himself The Resting Guy and in the video below, he shows you how to take an intentional rest any time, anywhere, in five minutes.
Dan says, “Over the years, I’ve learned that the level I’m rested to is the level I can be present with anyone or anything (ever tried to connect with someone or pay attention to something when you’re exhausted?) and that the more rested I am, the more fun I have and the more available I am to experience and enjoy life.
“So now I love to teach people how they can consciously rest anywhere, anytime, day or night – and I’ve discovered that the state of being that rests is also the state of inner stillness and creative presence.”
You’ll find more from Dan here.
